Ironic

May 8, 2009 by

I  found this website while I was looking into some things for the website. It’s ironic that it’s a horribly designed page about good layout.

Interesting website vs. print

May 8, 2009 by

I was checking out local newspapers in some South American countries in prep for a trip, and came across this. The printed paper is in spanish, but the main website is in English. I thought it was an interesting assumption that internet users would rather have english.

boring newspaper layout

May 8, 2009 by

Im not sure that i like the fact that this article has one large picture. It makes it look less professional and less like a newspaper layout. I also think it looks tacky to have the banner on the left  and the text on the right. The cutline under the photo is way to small and hard to read. With a photo as large as this one, I would think the caption size would be a little bigger.

interesting photo essay

I found this photo essay very entertaining. The title initially drew me in :”Obama and Biden go out for Burgers”. The shot of obama pulling bills out of his pocket to pay for the meals ( and then a close up of just the bills in the following pictures) made me think about the ordinaryness of the president, which i think many people forget. the thought of Biden and Obama just going out for burgers like they’re buds is compltely funny to me. Especially at some hole-in the wall looking place.I guess he has an  american side after all.

cool infographic

I like the simplicity of this infographic. The message is clearly identifiable from the pictures which display the action that the discription gives. Ialso like how the pictues are white with black boarders and red x’s. The red, white and black scheme make the infograph look cohesive.
